Tish's Swim School & Aqua Gym was established in 1986.
Tish has been a swimmer all her life and was swimming competitively at 6 years of age.
At 2, she was rescued from drowning in a public pool – her mission in life is to provide a service to the community to help prevent such drowning incidents from happening.
She qualified in 1986, by completing the Natal Swim Coaches Association 'Teaching' Course.
In the same year she attended a course in 'Baby Teaching' and 'Pre-School Teaching'.
In 1987 she went on to achieve an Honours in the Natal Swim Coaches Association 'Advanced Teachers' Course.
Tish is a 'hands on' teacher, being in the pool with the children to handle them safely and building trust, thus enabling the child to learn and progress happily and confidently.
The aim is to develop confident and happy swimmers who will be able to save themselves if need be.
The pool is outdoor & heated. There is plenty of space for parents and or family members to sit around the pool and watch the lessons in progress in order to see how their child is progressing and what stage of skills proficiency they have achieved.
Each child has two lessons a week – the continuity and regular exposure to the routined lessons enables the child to relax and ensures progress.
In 1989 Tish qualified with Aquatic Exercise Association in America and is a founder member of SAWFA (South African Water Fitness Association)
She conducts Aquacise classes every day for any one who is wanting or needing it! There is no age limit. The classes are an hour in duration.
